The StarClass coordination-commission has published the
names of the qualifiers from the StarClass for the Future
Champions Trophy in Amsterdam. The qualifiers from the
Danubia Series will be published as soon as available. Go to

Announcement Future
Champions Trophy Send out
16-01-2009. Today the
official announcement for the Future Champions Trophy Short
Track Speed Skating has been send out to all European
Associations. Extra information can be found in the next
weeks on this website. Invitation of the athletes will be
done by the athletes-associations after the StarClass and
Danubia-committee has informed them. This will be done based
on the rules for this event which hase been set-up last
summer by these committees. |

Champions
Trophy in Amsterdam |

Amsterdam 10-01-2009.
In the last weekend of february the Future Champions Trophy
Short Track Speed Skating will take place. This competition
is the final of the Danubia Open Series and the Star Class
Series. The competition allthough planned to be held in
Bormio (ITA) has moved to Amsterdam. Reason for this is that it was not possible for
Bormio to organize this international Shorttrack-event
on the date as planned. The Amsterdam Skating Club Jaap
Eden, organizer of two Worldchampionships, Worldcups and
more then 30 times the Open Dutch Juniors, took
over the organisation in close cooperation with the Topsport
Foundation of the City of Amsterdam. |

Under the
auspices of the International Skating Union and the Royal
Skating Association of the Netherlands the best ten skaters
of each age-category of West- and East-Europe will come to
the Jaap Eden Icerink in Amsterdam This qualification is
based on the top-level competitions which were held this
season in Europe. In East Europe this was the Danubia Open
Series and in West-Europe the StarClass Series. Only
skaters with a very strong limit-time were allowed to enter
for these events and only the best will be invited for the
final. |

Skaters who
have qualified will receive their invitation from the StarClass & Danubia Coordination Committee through their own
National Association. The names will also be published on
this website of the Amsterdam Skating Club Jaap Eden and
also on the website:
www.shorttrackonline.info, which is also sponsor of this
event. |
